Killyclogher lad signs for The Jags

A FORMER Tyrone Milk Cup player has been presented with the opportunity to forge a permanent full-time professional career with one of the leading clubs in Scotland.

Killyclogher lad, Caolan McAleer, has signed a full-time professional contract with Scottish League One side, Partick Thistle with the intention of making his mark over the coming months in a bid to secure a long-term offer of employment.

The attacking midfielder, who last year played for the Northern Ireland Schoolboys and until recently was on the books of Linfield went to Firhill on trial for four days at the end of November.

Four days turned into four weeks and before Christmas the 18-year-old signed for Thistle until the end of the season. Since the lucrative move the prodigious attacking talent has played twice for the club’s reserve team against St Johnstone and Rangers, a side that included Northern Ireland international David Healy and David Weir and once for the Thistle under-19 team
