New Lee-verage with the Dogg

FORMER Castlederg man, Lee Mulhern has teamed up with American rapper superstar, Snoop Dogg for a new US single release.

Lee M, as he is now known, is also collaborating with Iyaz (of Replay fame) and J Pearl on the track, which was produced by David May in Switzerland.

Described as ‘electro house’ the tune is expected to be released worldwide in the coming weeks, with the video going live as early as this Friday.

“It’s getting pretty exciting at the moment,” Lee told the Tyrone Herald this week.

“We’re not exactly sure when the single is coming out but it’s happening soon, I think.

“I’ve been in bands and I’ve been singing for a long time, but if everything goes well with this, this could be the major break I’ve been waiting for.”

Born in Omagh, but having grown up in the Derg, Lee’s career on-stage started when he was just seven years old. He made his first appearance on Irish television winning the top prize in ‘Children At Heart’ before going on to sing live on the BBC ‘Children in Need’ appeal.

In 2001, at age 13, he participated in a Las Vegas New Year’s Eve concert that included Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel and Neil Diamond.

And in 2005, Lee joined the band Streetwize, billed as the world’s first “global boyband”, as one of its original members, following worldwide auditions. Currently though, Lee has all his attentions focused on the potential of Slow Motion.

“This could provide the platform to push me on to other things, so in that way, it could be great,” he added.

“The video could be out by this time next week, so it’ll be exciting when that happens. I’m looking forward to it.”

The video for Slow Motion was shot in Milan and LA and even though they’re collaborating on the same track, Lee revealed he has yet to meet the Dogg in person.

“Yeah, it’s amazing how the track has been laid down, I haven’t met either of the two boys yet. I was sent the track and then I put down the vocals with (producer) Wes Devine, we sent it away and that was it.”

He added, “I’ll be looking forward to the time we all get to meet.”

‘Slow Motion’ featuring Lee M, J Pearl, Snoop Dogg and Iyaz is set to be released in the coming weeks.
