TWO former Tyrone players have been appointed to manage their respective native clubs for the 2013 season.
Brian Gormley is to take over at Carrickmore following the departure of Dominic Corrigan, while Sean Meyler is the new man at the helm at Omagh, taking over from Liam Grugan.
Both players won Ulster titles with Tyrone and served the Red Hands with distinction at Minor, U-21 and senior levels. Sean Meyler was a member of the side which captured the Ulster title in 1989, while Brian Gormley was part of the 1995 and 1996 teams.
They also starred in successful O’Neill Cup winning teams for the clubs.
Welcoming the appointment of Sean Meyler, the Omagh club chairman, Seamus Hannigan wished him all the best for the year ahead.
“All club members wish Seanie, his assistants, and the various team managers and players at all levels the very best of luck in the season ahead. We would also like to thank the outgoing senior manager Liam Grugan and his assistants for their great work with the team in 2012 which saw them reach a Top Four League play-off,” he said.
