23-year-old woman critical after Ballygawley road crash


A 23-year-old woman is in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital after a single car road crash near Ballygawley on Monday.

It’s understood the woman’s car left the Old Dungannon Road near the town at around 1.10pm yesterday afternoon, traveling down a bank and hitting a tree.

A Fire and Rescue Crew from Clogher attended the incident, using cutting equipment to free the heavily trapped 23-year-old.


A rapid response paramedic also attended along with an A&E crew, treating the woman for serious injuries at the crash site, before transporting her to Craigavon Area Hospital.

The woman was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, where her condition on Tuesday afternoon was described as “critical”.
