CASTLEDERG man Gareth Sayers continued his good form to clinch this year’s Omagh Motor Club Dickson and Co. Insurance Rally Time Trial which returned after a short absence back to the Omagh Educational Campus site.

A strong field of nearly 40 entrants completed six tests over a demanding 1.2 mile course through the campus site which proved a good challenge to competitors throughout the day.

The final results were determined on the cumulative ‘best two’ times recorded and after the first run, Castlederg man Andrew Bustard set the pace by a fraction of a second from Sayers and extended it by setting the quickest time over the second run.

Sayers responded with the quickest time on the third run and eventually captured the lead on the final run with the quickest time of the day stopping the clock at 2 mins, 07.28 secs.

Another Castlederg man Adam Bustard put in another impressive performance in a Corsa to claim the final podium placing by putting in his quickest times in the final two runs.

At the prizegiving clerk of the course Ronnie McAleer thanked all the marshalls, officials, event sponsor and all competitors for supporting this end of year event.

He also thanked the officials of Omagh Shared Educational Campus for their help and co operation in making this event successful.
