OMAGH flyer Adrian Pollock picked up valuable points in the Northern Ireland Formula Ford 1600 Championship by claiming a first and second at Kirkstown on Saturday.

In race one Pollock shadowed Kildare man Jake Byrne all the way to the finish line in his BMW David Prentice sponsored Van Diemen DP08 but had to settle for second best by just six seconds.

That opening joust whetted the appetite for the sequel which lived up to all expectations with the lead changing hands on a number of occasions before Pollock edged out his great rival by a mere 0.14 seconds.

That sensational victory earned Pollock the Driver of the Day award.
