NOMINATIONS for the 2016 Ulster Herald Sports Personality of the Year awards, held in association with Main Street, have been published and it’s time for you, the reader, to vote for your favourite.

Included are six pages of nominations for you to choose from in categories ranging from Overall Sports Personality, Young Personality, Senior Team, Youth Team, Club, School Team and Recognition Award.As a certain Mr McGuinness (Paddy not Martin) might say the power is in your hands!

The popular annual awards is now firmly established as one of the sporting highlights of the calendar year within Tyrone. The gala black tie function returns to Kelly’s Inn, Garvaghey on Friday, March 3 and as always it’s a must-attend event. The Awards honour sportsmen and women across all age groups from within the county who have achieved and excelled on the local, national and world stage.

We’re looking for you to cast your vote for your top personality or team in all categories
Your votes will act as a guide for us when deciding our award-winning sports stars of 2016 and who deserves to walk off with the main prizes on the night.

Closing date for voting is Monday, February 27.
