SERIAL marathon runner John McCann has just completed his annual autumn double in Dublin and New York and, in crossing the finish line in Central Park, the Dromore veteran made it a remarkable 120.
It was the 17th time that Tyrone’s finest conquered the Big Apple. That, too, marked his seventh 26-miler in 2016.
Since April John has run in London, Belfast, Newry, Longford and Berlin before making it a maginificent seven in Dublin and New York.
In April and May John completed London, Belfast and Newry before taking time out to recharge the batteries.
Next up was Longford at the end of August followed by Berlin in September. Halloween had John pounding the streets of the Fair City and seven days later he was back in the Big Apple.
“Finishing my 7th for this year in Central Park, New York was definitely a great feeling of achievement and satisfaction that we had successfully completed our mission,” reflected John.
And the good news is John has no intention of hanging up his running shoes just.
“I have plans for a few marathons next year but defintely not as any as seven!”
