VIDEO: ‘Today is a defining moment’ – McElduff

Sinn Fein has recorded its best ever result in West Tyrone taking over 21,000 first preference votes.

The party increased its number of first preference votes frmo 2016 by more than 5,000 to 21,321, a historic high.

“This is a big day for Sinn Fein,” said Barry McElduff, who was elected at the first stage along with Michaela Boyle.

“In the same way that 1918 was a big year for Sinn Fein, today is a defining moment, it’s a very significant milestone.

“Sinn Fein is receiving a powerful mandate from the people and we have to use it wisely in the days ahead.”
