New high performance gym planned for Tyrone GAA centre

The training facilities at Tyrone GAA’s headquarters in Garvaghey. MC41

The £7million Tyrone GAA Centre at Garvaghey is set to get even better if a major new state-of-the-art development at the site is given the green light.

Opened in 2013, the facility is the base for the Red Hand inter-county teams and is the envy of every other county in Ireland.

Now permission is being sought to build a high-performance gym at the rear of the existing building.

It will be able to accommodate the essential strength and conditioning training carried out by the top gaelic footballers and hurlers in the county.
