Judge describes man as “dangerous to women”


AN Omagh man who was described as “dangerous to women” by a judge allegedly broke into the home of one of his victims on Sunday… five days after being ordered to stay away from her.

Darius Lorenz (28) of Strule Park created a disturbance at Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday when he was refused bail.

Due to his history of violence towards women, Judge Bernie Kelly asked that Lorenz’s status in the UK be scrutinised by the Border Agency with a view to having him returned to Poland.

Less than six months ago Lorenz was sentenced for threatening to cut off his wife’s fingers with an axe during a drunken rage.  Lorenz is currently subject to a restraining order to stay away from his former wife.

A second restraining order was imposed last week when Lorenz appeared before the court and ordered to stay away from another woman he assaulted.
