Tommy Murphy was on target as Harps were crowned D1 champions
STRATHROY Harps were this evening crowned Fermanagh and Western League Division One champions for a third time.
Harps defeated Beragh Swifts 4-0 at Strathroy Road to seal the Mercer League with two games to spare.
Goals by Mickey Logue, Darren Teague, Tommy Murphy and Aidy McCaffrey put the seal on an impressive campaign during which the Omagh side lost just once.
Harps will be presented with the Division One after Saturday’s game against Lisbellaw United.
Following that Seamus Fanthorpe’s charges will turn their attention to winning the Mulhern Cup for a third consecutive season when they square up to Beragh Swifts in the May 12 showpiece final.
This evening’s game was blown up early after Beragh player Jason Armstrong suffered a head injury. He was taken to hospital by ambulance after being treated by paramedics.
