Sasha could be the next urban pop sensation

Killyclogher singer Sasha Tandon can’t wait to make her mark on the UK pop scene and beyond with her brand new single ‘Gotta Go’.

The song is the first track off her upcoming five-track EP, due to be released later in the Summer. Gotta Go, recorded in London, encompasses Sasha’s urban pop leanings with a striking minimal bass production and a stripped-back vocal performance, courtesy of Da BeatFreakz Productions.

“I just love the song,” Sasha, who is now based in London, said. “It focuses on that stage in your relationship when your partner begins to slack off.

“You know, after you’ve had all the best times together and they’ve made all those promises to you.

“You don’t want to love somebody who loves you wrong… so they just gotta go.”

Sasha is certainly no stranger to the stage. The talented star recalls performing for the very first time at the tender age of eight after attending her first concert – a Destiny’s Child gig – in Belfast.

“I was so young, but I just knew from then that performing was what I wanted to do,” she explained. “I then began to perform shows all across Omagh and further afield as I grew older.”

For the last few years, Sasha has been using YouTube to gain an online presence, where the former Omagh Academy student caught the attention of industry insiders. She then moved to Stratford in East London to immerse herself in the pop culture of the capital, where she signed a publishing deal and began writing and developing her upcoming new EP. Her artistic influences include artists across a diverse range of genres, including Frank Sinatra, Beyoncé, 50 Cent and Rihanna.

“My EP is going to be an introduction to me as a person and I am so excited to release it,” Sasha smiled. “It will really give people a glimpse into my world and my values, and it is being produced by a large team of people who are on the same page as me, which is important.

“Since I was young, I believed that music always finds a way to say what you need to say. It becomes your voice.

“And so I want this EP to be a voice and a source of help for others.

“I’d love it if people were able to relate to my words.”

Sasha’s brand new single, ‘Gotta Go’ is now available to buy from all streaming platforms, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.
