Mallards sign Dergview midfielder Burns

Dergview’s Blaine Burns is Ballinamallard bound

Burns has spent seven seasons at Darragh Park during two spells and is regarded as one of the best holding midfielders in the Championship.

“I wish Blaine all the best. He has been a good servant to the club,” he said.

“He was dedicated, committed and loyal player, the ultimate professional. I have no doubt he is good enough to play in the Premier League and I hope it works out for him.”

In confirming the arrival of Burns, Mallards boss Gavin Dykes said, “He’s a defensive midfielder, a good lad. I saw a bit of him last year. He has a bit of strength and quality about him and wants to go and compete at the highest level. He fits in with what we are trying to do and we’re are delighted to have him.”
