Online troll targets Alliance candidate in Tyrone

Tyrone Alliance Party representative Stephen Donnelly has hit out at “vile online abuse” directed at him from an anonymous troll.
The young Clanabogan man received a tweet from the troll which stated that his deceased relatives would be ashamed of him for ‘joining the closet Republicans in the Alliance Party.’
Mr Donnelly said he accepts that politicians can be subjected to criticism but says he will not tolerate abusive personal comments.
“My message to anyone thinking of going into politics, expect to be judged and opposed strongly, but never feel like you must respect those who only wish to make you feel awful,” said Mr Donnelly.
