Two teens arrested following weekend assault in Omagh

A 28-year-old man was treated by paramedics for a number of facial injuries following an assault in Omagh in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Constable Declan Curran revealed two males, aged 16 and 15 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault, occasioning actual bodily harm (AOABH).

Police have appealed for witnesses following the report of an assault at licensed premises in the Kevlin Avenue area of Omagh just before 2am yesterday morning, Saturday, September 2.


He said, “We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident or who has any further information that could help our investigation. Please contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 129 of 2/9/17.

“Alternatively, information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The two males have been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
