DERGVIEW recorded a first ever competitive victory over former Premiership side Portadown at a rain-lashed Darragh Park this afternoon.

Richard Clarke’s team went into the high profile fixture still searching for a first win in the Championship this season and the home side delivered in style.

A low 16-yard strike by Adam Buchanan set the Derg men on their way on the stroke of half-time and the lead was doubled bang on the hour mark when Simon McGlynn sliced through the Ports defence to beat John Connolly.

Niall Henderson pulled a goal back with a disputed penalty but it was Dergview’s day.

And, after goalkeeper Stefan McCusker was taken off injured following a challenge by Kyle Neill, Ryan ‘Rocket’ Campbell put the seal on a famous win with another accomplished finish


STRIKER Ryan Campbell is set to join Ballinamallard United for a third term.
