An Omagh father proved that he was a stylish cut above the rest when he was crowned the winner of a prestigious fashion award at Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin recently.
Stepping out in his Peaky Blinders-inspired grey flat cap and matching outfit, Neil Moody was – much to his surprise! – announced the winner of the ‘Cliff Style’s Most Stylish Man’ award.
The 38-year-old impressed with his long tweed coat and matching coloured stripe scarf – both purchased from Suitor Brothers Tailoring in Belfast – and warm grey trousers. He also sported a smart maroon jumper, brogues, and a country-style shirt and tie which completed the trendy outfit.
When picking up his prizes, worth approximately £3,000, Neil was cheered on by his wife, Nicola and his 17-week-old daughter, Martha who were enjoying the day with him.
Among Neil’s prizes were luxury hotel breaks for three nights in Dublin, Kildare and Ardmore, and a private tour of the prestigious Waterford Crystal factory.
Neil, who has grown up with horses and who has loved horse racing his entire life, told the Ulster Herald that he simply “couldn’t believe it” when he was announced the winner at Leopardstown.
“People spend thousands on their outfits when they attend these competitions, but I was there primarily for the racing,” he described. “So when I won, I just couldn’t believe it and I was so humbled.
“It was all good craic,” Neil, who lives between Omagh and Beragh, smiled. “Myself and my family were treated like royalty afterwards. I even had to do a live interview with RTE in the parades ring which didn’t go too badly thank goodness!”
He concluded, “It was a fantastic end to 2017, and I’m looking forward to enjoying the prizes with my family this year.”
