HUNDREDS of people throned the Square in Moy to welcome home the all-conquering heroes from the Tir Na Ogs following their famous All-Ireland title win at Croke Park.
It was a day to remember for the club as they defeated Michael Glaveys of Roscommon by 1-10 to 0-7 to take the title for the first time and climax a memorable year.
An early goal from Tomas Loughran set them on the road to victory after only 28 seconds. They led by 1-5 to 0-1 at half-time, but had to withstand a determined comeback by the Roscommon side on the resumption.
However, there was to be no denying the Tyrone and Ulster champions as they came good again near the finish to claim an emphatic victory, much to the delight of their large contingent of fans.
Sean Cavanagh returned to the scene of so many of his triumphs for Tyrone with a vintage display, while his brother, Colm, Thomas McNicholl and Mark Gribben were others to impress.
