The President’s Club claim their maiden Division One title

Division One winners, President’s Club: Gary Arkinson, Paddy Barrett and Adrian Ballantyne.

THE President’s Club had a week to remember following last week’s round of fixtures as they captured their inaugural Coach Inn-sponsored Division One crown following an emphatic 6-0 trouncing of the Century Club.

To add to their team trophy, the consistently outstanding Gary Arkinson won the division’s Player of the Year title and now leads the division’s High Break category with a well-constructed 75 break in his double frame defeat of A Maguire. Arkinson was ably supported by his colleagues Adrian Ballantyne and Paddy Barrett across a very dominant campaign for the President’s trio as they tasted defeat just three times in 19 outings with one match remaining.

Coach Inn A and O’Connor’s A played out a 3-3 stalemate for the second week running with B McDonagh and R Edis sealing double frame victories for their sides with J Doran and D McKenna tying.

Coach Inn Aces and T&F Hospital also tied 3-3 in the penultimate round of fixtures with all three matches ending in stalemate; B Loughran’s 42 break being the highlight of this encounter.
