Another successful landmark event for Strule Valley

Pauline McLaren presents the RJ Monteith Memorial Cup to Jenna Cooke.

STRULE Valley Riding Club held its 21st annual Combined Training Show at the RDA, Omagh.

The club would like to thank Ivor Harper for judging; Stephen, scribe; Katie Clarke, Alison Donnell and Emily, scorers; Pearl Donnell, refreshments; Lucinda Blakiston-Houston, entries; Alan Gilchrist, starter; Raymond Caldwell, course building, and everyone who helped build the course. Thanks to the RDA for setting up the dressage arena.

Roisin Cathcart made a successful return to competition, winning BD Intro A 2008 dressage only with Grangefort Blaze. Jill Hobson and The Alchemist had a worthwhile journey, winning BD Prelim 14 2006 dressage only and BD Novice 28 2008 dressage only.

Young Fermanagh Harriers Pony Club member Kamryn McQuade and Rosie won BD Prelim 1 2006 with one round jumping and Jenna Coote and Riley took the red rosette in BD Novice 24 2010 with one round jumping.

The winner of The RJ Monteith Perpetual Cup was Jenna Coote and Riley (highest placed host club member).

A few members rode round Baronscourt Estate on Easter Monday in rather wintry conditions and money from this will go to Chest, Heart & Stroke.

During April, members will receive showjumping training with Kyle Hayes at Ecclesville. In May it will be the turn of Mandi King for polework/gridwork at her yard. A working hunter show is also planned for May.
