Annual charity football match in memory of ‘Hoss’

The late Joe McDermott.

THE life and legacy of Joe ‘Hoss’ McDermott will once again be celebrated this year in the form of a charity football match.

The match, which will take place this Sunday, is in its third year running and has continued support from Joe’s wide circle of family and friends.

It will see Shandon Shamrocks defend their title against Hoss FC, who have been beaten in the previous two years running – and the lively showdown never fails to disappoint!

“The match is a fantastic way to celebrate my brother, Joe and to have his family and friends altogether on this special day,” said Laura McDermott. “Everyone is welcome to attend the match and we hope to make it a great day out.

“The trophy presentation will take place in the Coach Inn from 7pm on the Sunday night, where a band and buffet have kindly been supplied by Conor to celebrate the winners in style!”

Mr McDermott was sadly killed in an accident on a construction site in Australia in 2015.

The McDermott family would like to express their sincerest thanks to everyone for their continued support. They have also thanked the Tamlaught car care and XCAT for sponsoring the match again this year.

• The #HOSS charity football match will take place at Omagh Leisure Complex on Sunday, May 6 at 3pm. Post-match celebrations will be held at the Coach Inn from 7pm onwards.
