HE’S well-known for his balloon modelling exploits, but now Ryan Tracey is trying his hand at a new kind of challenge… Becoming a balloon ninja!
This Saturday evening, the charasmatic Omagh native will be swinging, climbing and jumping his way to international stardom on ITV’s popular programme, Ninja Warrior UK.
Taking on the most daunting and difficult course to date, Ryan from Duff Balloons will be competing alongside celebrities, internationally ranked decathletes, American football players, free runners, rock climbers and more.
“This Saturday night, it is on! I am 100 per-cent going to be shown on Ninja Warrior UK,” said Ryan, who is now living in Beragh. “Tune into ITV at 6.30pm to see my run… I’m not going to lie, balloons may have been involved!”
Brian’s successful audition for the show – in which he comically dressed up as a balloon ninja – took place just over a month after his Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.
However he only had five weeks to prepare for the show, and at the time his fitness levels were ‘reasonable at best’.
So Ryan got stuck into a gruelling fitness regime, which involved training every day alongside local personal trainer, Stevie Breen who pushed the Omagh native every week to get better.
With a diet plan, a water plan and a sleep plan firmly in place, Ryan also got his friend Liam O’Neill – ‘the Prove It Guy – on board who aided him with his mindset, and he also recruited his good friend, Dessie McLaughlin from the Body Clinic to ensure that his body recovered fully as he hammered it into shape.
To see how Ryan gets on, make sure to catch Ninja Warrior on ITV this Saturday evening at 6.30pm.
