ONE of Strule Dolphins’s fastest rising stars, Seanan Donnelly, achieved the ‘holy grail’ of a division one qualification time at the Ulster Age Group Championships in the Aurora Swimming Complex, Bangor, where he also claimed three silver medals and a bronze, alongside a PB in all six of his events.
The Beragh youngster was in the form of his life, earning silver medals in the 100m and 400m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke, a bronze in the 200m Breaststroke and he achieved Irish Division 2 Qualification times in the 200m Frontcrawl and 100m Butterfly, adding to the eight Irish Division 2 times he already has under his belt!
However, better was still to come, when Seanan swam the 100m Breaststroke, knocking an incredible 6.82 seconds off his previous best to attain the coveted Division One Qualification time.
This is an incredible achievement and testament to young Seanan’s dedication and prowess in the pool. He has developed and matured under the watchful eyes of the Strule Dolphins coaching team into such a talented and technically proficient swimmer capable of competing and winning now at the very highest levels .
This result now qualifies the young Dolphin for the top swimming tournament in Ireland where he will represent the club at the Irish National Division One Championship in the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin, in July.
Congratulations from everyone involved in Strule Dolphin circles on what is just reward for your efforts and hours of commitment in the pool over the season. The club wish you every success as you take on Ireland’s best in Dublin next month.
