SCOTTISH international Keith Meisner proved emphatically that his number one seeding ahead of the Tyrone Senior Open Championships was well-merited.
The Elgin native breezed through the competition, demolishing Paul McCrum 6-0, 6-0 to reach the last four where he dispatched Matthew McGann 6-4, 6-2.
In the final he met second seed Adam Boyle, but any hopes of a close contest were soon dashed as Meisner wasted little time in sealing a first Tyrone title following a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
In the ladies singles, it was another number one seed who earned a surprisingly straightforward win in the final when Amy Rothwell defeated Donna McSorley 6-1, 6-0 in the decider. She reached the final following a 6-0, 6-1 win over Nikki Hawkes and a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Frances Taggart to win Group A.
In the men’s doubles, second seeds Michael Blease and Adam Boyle proved too strong for top seeds Ross McCarey and Francis Venzon, following a 7-6, 6-3 victory in the final, while in the ladies competition, Amy Rothwell and Elaine Chambers claimed the title after straight-sets wins over Sarah Cousins and Aoifin Shorten, Nikki Hawkes and Donna McSorley.
The mixed doubles crown, meanwhile, was won by top seeds Francis Venzon and Elaine Chambers, who beat Andrew Moore and Amy Rothwell 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
