Now in its second year, the annual Dominic Kirwan weekend hosted at the Silverbirch Hotel over the first weekend of July, will bring fans of the Omagh entertainer together for what promises to be one to remember.
Every room in the Omagh hotel and several local guesthouses are booked out as fans make the trip from Scotland, England, Wales and beyond for a weekend that will afford them music, song, dance and, of course, Omagh hospitality at its very best.
Dominic and his band will be on stage on the two days and one afternoon with special guests and the odd surprise artiste also popping up.
Guests at the weekend will also be heading to the annual Omagh Show at the Showgrounds on Saturday, July 6 where it is expected Dominic may join them for a wee singsong, as the Omagh entertainer, who will be celebrating 25 years on the professional circuit next year, explained it’s all about offering the visitors to the town a sample of what we have to offer.
“It’s great that so many people take the time to come to Omagh for our weekend and as I am so proud of this part of the world it is important that we show them some of the area.
Last year we went to the Folk Park – this year it’s Omagh Show. The Show was always part of my growing up and it’s great now to share it with so many people from outside the area.”
Joining Dominic on stage over the weekend will be stalwart of the music business Brendan Quinn, the beutiful Benn Sisters, Carrie and Leanne, and the superb Davitt Band who are certainly worth a look and listen.
