TWO talented young motocross speedsters have been enhancing their reputations as stars of the future after winning championship events in 2015.

Racing in the 65cc class, 11-year-old Dromore lad Martin Hughes maintained a strong family tradition by finishing top of the podium in the Errigal Championship and claiming third in both the Ulster and Irish Championships.

The Drumragh Integrated College student is the son of motocross ace Martin Hughes and nephew of Paul, Ryan and Patrick Barrett, all of whom made their name in motocross before turning their hand to rallying.
Oisin’s cousin is Jamie McCanny who lives in the Isle of Man and who earlier this year was crowned British and World Motocross champion.

Next year the gifted young racer moves up to the 85cc class. He has thanked his sponsors Rock Oil and Corra Contracts

Drumquin lad Bailey White has also had a season to remember.

The 10-year-old, riding a 65ccKTM, roared to victory in the Bushmills and District Motorcycle Championship, finished runner-up in Errigal as well as making it into the top five in Ulster.

Next season Bailey, a pupil at Langfield Primary School, is hoping to compete in both the Ulster and Irish 65cc Championship.
He has thanked his sponsors Top Gear Motors, Killen, The Post Inn, Drumquin and RJ Smyth Engineering, Omagh.
