Series of jazz nights to commence in Omagh

The Joseph Leighton Trio will headline the inaugural ‘Jazzhole’ series in Omagh.

Henry Hughes is starting a series of Jazz events in Omagh over the next few months under the name ‘Jazzhole’.

The events will kick-off on Saturday, June 24 in The Top Of The Town with the Joseph Leighton Trio, with support from highly regarded local pianist Caolan Hutchinson.

The Derry performer is one of the finest young jazz guitarists to emerge on the Irish scene performing at numerous festivals. He was one of the youngest musicians to be awarded a place on the Jazz Course at the Banff Centre, Canada and was selected as one of Moving On Music’s ‘Emerging Artists’ 2016-17.

He recently established the ‘Joseph Leighton Trio’, featuring James Anderson on drums and Jack Kelly on bass.

Together they headlines the first event in the ‘Jazzhole’ series, to be presented intermittently by Henry Hughes in Top of the Town.

Henry will be presenting the series of events under his ongoing music promotion project, which originally started out as local rock nights under ‘Henry’s Cavalcade of Musical Awesomeness’.

With the help of his friends, this has progressed onto ‘HenCav Events’, with intention to grow further and host more events.

Doors open for the inaugural ‘Jazzhole’ at 9pm and the show will start at 10pm.
Assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes etc will be provided on selected tables, so get down early to ensure a place near the musicians.
Keep an aye out on the ‘HenCav Events’ Facebook page for upcoming Jazzhole dates.
