An Irish and Scottish tour which has proved to be a resounding success for Clanabogan singer, Donna Taggart, reaches another major milestone this weekend.
Her ‘Jealous of the Angels Tour’ has been drawing crowds at venues across the country. Now she’s preparing for her biggest gig yet at the iconic Ulster Hall in Belfast this Saturday night, October 7.
It promises to be a memorable night for Donna, who has enjoyed a whirlwind year ever since her version of ‘Jealous of the Angels’ went viral on Facebook in 2016.
“The Ulster Hall concert is really going to be something special.
“This is definitely our biggest so far with an audience capacity of 1,200,” she said.
“It’s in Belfast which is a sort of home from home for us. I’m definitely expecting that it will be like a homecoming because there are so many people from around Tyrone who are intending to go”.
Donna has been playing to packed venues all over Ireland during her tour so far. She has now completed ten of the 17 dates, including sell-out shows at the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh.
Last Thursday night, she was at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght in Dublin and is hoping many members of her family and friends from the Omagh area will make the trip to Belfast on Saturday night.
“It will be nice to have so many people that I know in the audience in the Ulster Hall,” she added.
“My sister, Sinead, has been supporting me on many of the tour dates so far.
“To have her in Belfast as well is nice and we’re just looking forward to what should be a really intimate concert”, Donna added.
Appearing as a special guest on the night will be Nashville singer songwriter, Sarah Darling.
