A BID to construct 44 new houses in Fintona has been submitted to planners.

The plan submitted to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council last week proposes 44 semi-detached two storey homes next to an existing development on the Loughmuck Road.

Clanmore Developments Ltd’s bid would significantly expand upon the existing Loughmuck Meadows development, erecting the houses directly to the east, just north of an engineering yard on the edge of the town.

The plan also includes detached domestic garages for the houses.

The Dromore construction firm has said its proposal will result in “an attractive quality residential housing scheme that will offer not just good accommodation, but will also provide a high quality landscape environment for all the prospective new residents to appreciate and enjoy”.

Its design and access statement submitted with the application states that the new development “will stop-end the existing domestic clusters which makes up this part of Fintona”.

The houses have been designed by Omagh based firm Collins Design.

The bid comes after plans were recently unveiled to build 88 houses just ten miles away in the village of Clogher.
