PSNI probe double car theft in Eglish area

Police have released images of models similar to the cars stolen in Eglish last Friday morning.

An investigation has been launched after two cars were stolen in the Eglish area last Friday.

A charcoal grey Volkswagen Golf GTD, with grey wing mirrors and a silver strip across the boot, and a white Volkswagen Jetta with Lassa snow tyres, were stolen using keys in the early hours of Friday (February 2).


The registration of the Volkswagen OIG 9249, while the Volkswagen Jetta’s registration is GXZ 7053.

The PSNI have said that a significant amount of golfing equipment was also in one of the vehicles. They have asked people to be on alert if offered golf clubs or equipment at below normal asking price.

Three children’s car seats and a child’s buggy were also stolen inside one of the cars.

A PSNI spokesperson said, “Where you in the Eglish area around this time? Did you see these vehicles travelling together or separate? Have you seen these vehicles parked up anywhere since?”
