Gavin Dykes has resigned as manager of Ballinamallard United

GAVIN Dykes has quit as manager of Danske Bank Premiership strugglers Ballinamallard United.

Following Saturday’s crushing 4-0 defeat to Ards, Dykes said he would consider his position over the weekend.


Late last night the basement club confirmed that the Sligo man had indeed called it a day.

“Tonight the Senior Committee of Ballinamallard United Football Club have reluctantly accepted the resignation of first team manager Gavin Dykes,” a statement said.

“The Club would like to place on record their gratitude for his commitment, loyalty and passion over the past two seasons.

“A further statement will be issued in due course.”

Ballinamallard United are bottom of the Danske Bank Premiership, seven points adrift of second bottom Carrick Rangers with just eight games remaining.
