McConkey named new Ducks boss

Harry McConkey has been named the new manager of Ballinamallard.

HARRY McConkey has been appointed the new manager of the Ballinamallard United.

McConkey takes over from Gavin Dykes, who parted company with the Mallards following Saturday’s crushing 4-0 defeat to Ards.


It’s McConkey second spell as manager of the Ferney Park side, having guided the Fermanagh side to the Irish League second division title in 2003.

McConkey also has previous managerial experience with Dergview and the Northern Ireland Junior International Team, with whom he won the Umbro Quadrangular Tournament with in October 2017 and he holds a UEFA Pro Licence.

He remains enthusiastic about the challenge ahead and attended training this evening.

 He will take charge of the team for Saturday’s game against Glenavon.
