Derg Valley young farmers are gearing up for a commemorative tractor run in memory of friend and past member Matthew Gordon.

A former member of the club, Matthew sadly passed away in a freak construction accident in January 2015 and since then Derg Valley Young Farmers have been keen to commemorate him.

Now in its third year, club leader of Derg Valley Young Farmers, Mark Hamilton, hopes the tractor run is well supported to help raise money for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance charity.

“The club is greatly looking forward our upcoming tractor run in memory of past friend and member Matthew Gordon,” he said.

Matthew Gordon.

“Matthew was a very active member of young farmers and was a big part of the club. The tractor run helps us commemorate him.

“Through the years the tractor run has always been very successful and everyone is welcome to come along to help support this very worthy cause.”

The run will take place on May 20 with tractors assembling in Castlederg Surgery Car Park at 1pm and leaving at 2pm sharp through Castlederg, going on to Victoria Bridge,

Newtownstewart, Baronscourt, Drumlegagh, Drumquin Road and then returning to Castlederg. The cost is £10 per tractor.
