Andrew Short

Andrew Short is Managing Director of AJS Promotions and owner of local bars The Blind Cobbler and The Halfway House. Under his leadership AJS promotions have created hugely successful events including his most recent venture the NI Fitness Show in Belfast. Established annual events include Fintona’s Jamboree in the Park and the Spring Farm Machinery Show, which recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary.

Andrew is passionate about supporting other local businesses and partners where possible with local accommodation and restaurants to serve the large crowds that his events attract. Between the bars and events Andrew creates employment for approximately 80 people on a full-time, part-time and casual basis. Andrew is constantly evolving his businesses, promoting our local towns, generating employment and contributing to the local economy.


Charles Hamilton

Charles Hamilton is owner/manager of Hamilton’s Spar Group which comprises of three stores based in Omagh, Castlederg and Newtownstewart. These three stores provide employment for approximately 130 people making Charles a key employer in the local economy. He was always one for developing new and innovative ideas; he was a pioneer in the hot food field being one of the first to introduce hot food in his stores.

His ready-made meals, in store butchers and weekly offers being some of the things that set him apart from his competitors. Having spent almost 40 years in the industry his appetite for change hasn’t abated, along with his family Charles has plans for expansion and development in the coming 18-24 months. Charles is a widely respected retailer and business man.


Conor McCrossan

Conor McCrossan is the owner/managing director of KES Group. Conor started as a trainee electrician in 2001 and within 5 years was employing 70 people via McCrossan Electrical Services. Always forward-thinking Conor qualified as a wind turbine & solar engineer in 2009 and KES Solar was born.

A London investor saw the potential in Conor and invested millions. Within the last 3 years Conor has evolved the KES business model to include a new Biomass division, rebranded to Energi, launched two new high-spec product ranges, opened a manufacturing facility in Omagh, a regional sub division in Dublin and has secured a brand new 5-acre site in Strabane to accommodate the KES Group. The exponential growth of Conor’s business illustrates his ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.
