Ryan Campbell is set to rejoin Ballinamallard United for a third time

STRIKER Ryan Campbell is set to join Ballinamallard United.

Championship neighours Dergview had hoped that last season’s top goalscorer would extend his stay at Darragh Park but last night (Tuesday) manager Peter Allen confirmed that Campbell was returning to the Mallards.


The Derg boss said he was disappointed Campbell was leaving but wished him well in the future.

“Ryan has told me that joining Ballinamallard made it easier for him in terms of family and work commitments,” said Allen.

“I have to respect his decision. I want to thank him for his services and commitment to the club over the past two seasons.

“He has been fantastic for us, not only in terms of scoring goals but also in the changing room.”

Campbell joined Dergview from Ballinamallard United in July 2016.

Allen is meanwhile hoping to add to his squad in the coming days.
