THE ultimate ‘goal’ of a forthcoming soccer camp is to learn the important gospel message and come to know God.
This is the fifth year that the Omagh Baptist Church has hosted this popular event, which will see young people from all across the community enjoy playing football while being introduced to the teachings of Christ.
Other budding young footballers will see this event – which this year is ‘World Cup-themed’ – as an opportunity to strengthen their Christian faith.
As well as learning how to play the beautiful game, young participants will be treated to a ten minute gospel talk each night and a discussion will follow with church leaders.
Ryan Patterson from the Omagh Baptist Church said that the event has proven a massive success in previous years, making it now a highly-anticipated fixture in the church’s annual calendar.
“As a church, we consider this to be a fantastic opportunity to get to know the boys and girls outside our church community,” Ryan said.
“We will be sharing the gospel message in the hope that those involved will come to know Him and their Saviour.”
The Omagh Baptist Church’s ‘Soccer Camp’ will run from Monday, July 2 to Thursday, July 5 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the 4G pitches at the Omagh Leisure Centre. The event is free, and open to ages seven to 11.
On Friday, July 6, an awards night and barbecue will take place at the Omagh Baptist Church to celebrate the conclusion of the soccer camp.
