Relaunch of Family Eye Care in new, expanded premises

Ursula Weber, proprietor of Family Eye Care.

Family Eye Care is excited to be moving across to John Street in the Diamond, Castlederg to the former Bank of Ireland building. We have been in our current location for 18 years and due to expansion we needed the extra space. Our new premises has been completely refurbished to a very high standard and we look forward to serving our community for many years to come. Family Eye Care prides itself on offering clinical excellence and unrivalled customer service. We offer high quality frames at unbeatable prices and with our on site glazing laboratory most glasses are ready next day. We also fit all types of contact lenses daily, monthly and speciality toric lenses for astigmatism.

My passion in optometry is delivering quality eye care. In 2016 I attained my professional certificate in glaucoma. This allows me to detect glaucoma at an early stage, monitor it and reduce the number of hospital referrals. I also completed a minor eye conditions certificate allowing me to diagnose and manage eye conditions such as red/painful eyes, dry eye and flashes and floaters to name but a few. This reduces the need for a GP appointment and is a free service. In an ageing population cataracts are a common problem.

My qualifications in pre-operative cataract give me expertise in diagnosis and management of this condition. We are always looking for ways to expand our service. To this end I am delighted to offer audiology services in my new practice. This is provided by Amplifon who are a renowned independent company with many years of experience in hearing loss. This ensures a one stop shop for both vision and hearing. We are hosting a relaunch open day on Friday, June 29 to welcome everyone in to see our new premises, enjoy some refreshments and see our huge range of beautiful glasses. We are hoping to welcome both our existing patients and new ones to our modern, state-of-the-art new practice. I firmly believe everyone should have quality services in their community. People shouldn’t have to travel busy congested roads to access healthcare. I have always been determined to provide the highest standard of eyecare in Castlederg and its wider area and by doing so encourage people to support their local town and all it has to offer.
