Diversions in place for Twelfth of July parades

MOTORISTS are being advised of expected delays on roads in and around Ballygawley as the town plays host to a major Twelfth of July parade.

The PSNI said, “Congestion is expected within the general Ballygawley area from approximately 10.30am for the Clogher Valley parade.

“The A4 Old Dungannon Road will be closed to through traffic from approximately 12.30pm. A diversion will operate at Ballygawley Roundabout and at the Cabragh / dual carriageway junction.”


The procession will once again have a cross-border element with brethren from Monaghan walking with local lodges.

There will also be diversions in place in Castlederg for the annual celebrations.

In total, 56 lodges and about 50 bands will assemble at Mitchell Park on the Lower Strabane Road and head off, at 12.30pm, via Upper Strabane Road, William Street, John Street, Main Street and along the Castlegore Road to the demonstration field.
The return parade will leave the field at 4.30pm.
