Tyrone woman killed in M1 collision near Drogheda

A WOMAN who died as a result of a road traffic collision earlier this morning is believed to be from Co Tyrone.

The collision occurred on the M1 Northbound between junction 10 and 11. It is understood that the female was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was fatally injured when she was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and was pronounced dead a short time later. The female driver of the second vehicle was uninjured but brought to hospital as a precaution.


The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision investigators.
