McAree heavily linked with Coleraine job

Rodney McAree is being widely tipped as next manager of Coleraine

DUNGANNON manager Rodney McAree is the front runner to become the next manager of Coleraine Football Club.

The Bannsiders have made McAree their number one target to replace Oran Kearney who was appointed the new manager of St Mirren at the end of last week.

It is understood that Coleraine have held talks with McAree who guided Swifts to an historic first ever senior trophy success back in February when Dungannon defeated Ballymena United to win the Bet McLean League Cup.

McAree was also strongly linked with Glentoran when Gary Haveron left the Oval earlier this year.

Irish Cup winners Coleraine are currently second in the Danske Bank Premiership while Dungannon are second bottom.

DUNGANNON Swifts will begin the search for a new manager following the imminent departure of Rodney McAree.

Dungannon Swifts created history by winning their first senior trophy at the National Stadium this evening.
