Last time, I spoke about why it’s hard to find time, and simple solutions to counter that inaction! I also set a task of finding 15 spare minutes, which I’ll come back to at the end.
So I know the feeling, I’ve also been there before. You find yourself watching a race, in all the buzz and excitement you get caught up in it, and after it’s over you’re wishing you could be doing the same. You think for a moment that you can, then your brain storms in with a HUGE list of reasons why you shouldn’t, and why you can’t. And you listen. You feel self pity, instead of self belief, and you go back to the way things are normally, which is comfortable, familiar, safe.
So why is it so hard to turn that self doubt into self confidence? Why can’t we just throw caution to the wind? Simply put, we worry about what others think and this ultimately puts us off trying. So let me share something that we all should believe.
We all have the right to dream, and the right to act on it. Don’t let your doubts takeover! You have to start somewhere, we all do, and you’ll notice in time that you’ll feel better for trying something out, rather than wondering…what if?
That’s what building self confidence is all about. You start by doing a little, then you build on it and before you know it, your doing that one thing that you never thought you could. Then you look back at how far you’ve come and forward at how much further you’ll go. Well that’s what happened to me.
So let’s talk about that 15 minutes. In that 15 minutes you could go for a walk. You could go for a jog, even a run? So here’s something for anyone who wants to try…
Put in some trainers and head out the door. If you can, run for 15 minutes but, take your time. It’s not about seeing how quick you can make yourself fall over with oxygen deprivation, it’s about enjoyment, fulfilment, felf confidence!
If you see me on your travels, don’t forget to say hi, I’ll be giving you a huge thumbs up!
Catch up with you soon,
