COALAN McAleer has returned to Finn Harps for a second spell with the recently-promoted Donegal side.
The Omagh native was a key member of the Harps side that was relegated in 2017.
At the end of that season the attacking midfielder move to Sligo Rovers after being offered full-time football by the then Bit O’Red manager Gerard Lyttle.
McAleer was a regular starter for a Rovers side which finished seventh in last season’s SEE Airtricity Premier Division.
The former Partick Thistle player was high on Ollie Horgan’s Christmas shopping list and after a meeting in the middle of last month McAleer agreed to return to Finn Park.
Horgan said, “I signed Caolan for the 2017 season and he did well for us on the right side of midfield. He moved to Sligo Rovers last season.
“We would hope that the experience of those years have made him a better all round player but he will have to step it up because every game is going to be a massive challenge for us.”
McAleer is one of four players to agree terms with Finn Harps this week. Also resigned for next season are Gareth Harkin, Mark Timlin and Mark Coyle.
