Boxers go toe-to-toe for Air Ambulance

TOP male and female boxers from across Ireland are getting ready to come toe-to-toe in Omagh to help raise money and awareness for the Air Ambulance NI.

Organised by Omagh Lions Club in association with the Two Castles Amateur Boxing Club, the prestigious boxers will be travelling to the Mellon Country Inn from as far as Belfast and Mullingar to showcase the phenomenal talent Ireland has to offer during the ‘Fight Night’ event.

Among the stars hitting the line-up is World Number One, Jude Gallagher who recently added ‘Freddy Gilroy Young Boxer of the Year’ to his ever-growing list of local, Irish and European titles.

All proceeds raised during the highly-anticipated event will be presented to the Air Ambulance NI – a charity that relies entirely on the support from the public and local businesses to stay operational.

“Come along for a great night,” said Colum Maguire, Omagh Lions Club president.

“If previous tournaments are anything to go by, this will be a fantastic event for all, young and old. We are grateful for any support that you can offer.”

• The big night of boxing in aid of Air Ambulance NI, will take place on Saturday, February 9 at the Mellon Country Inn from 8pm. Tickets cost £10, and are available from Laird Jewellers, Two Castles Boxing Club, Mellon Country Inn and online at
