Jobs boost announced by Tyrone engineering firm

A DUNGANNON-based engineering firm is creating 80 new jobs as part of an £8 million investment plan announced today (Thursday).
The locally-owned EDGE Innovate is to construct a new 37,500 ft factory as part of the expansion of office and production facilities.
Around half of the new jobs have already been created, with the remainder expected to be in place by next year. The roles are part of a leadership and skills development programme focusing on innovation, employment, skills development and export growth.
Managing Director, Darragh Cullen, welcomed the development which he hailed as a testament to the firm’s workers.
“We are investing in our staff with a major leadership and skills development programme across all business areas, including the introduction of a new welding Academy,” he said.
The expansion is being supported by Invest NI. Its Chief Executive, Alastair Hamilton described EDGE Innovate as a global exporter on a ‘significant growth trajectory.’
“We have worked closely with the company for a number of years now, most recently with our Scaling team and it is a pleasure to visit today and see the results of the company’s commitment.”
