Man questioned over social media images released

A 44-YEAR-OLD man arrested yesterday on suspicion of withholding information in the Pat Ward murder investigation has been released, pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

The body of Mr Ward, who was originally from Sligo, but had been living in Clogher, was found in an alleyway in McCrea Park, Clogher at around 8.15am on Saturday morning.

Several hours later, detectives confirmed that they had launched a murder investigation.

Yesterday, the PSNI announced that detectives investigating the murder had arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of withholding information.

The man was also questioned under the Communications Act after CCTV footage and images of the deceased were shared online.

He has now been released, pending a report to the PPS.

On Wednesday, two people appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court charged with Mr Ward’s murder.

Niall Cox (23) and 33-year old Karen Marie McDonald, both from McCrea Park, Clogher, have been remanded in custody to appear again by videolink next month.
