Two confirmed dead in Cookstown nightclub incident

TWO young people have been confirmed dead in an incident at an hotel in Cookstown tonight (Sunday).

It is understood that the incident happened at around 9.45pm at the Greenvale Hotel on the Drum Road.

Ambulance and police were called to the scene and a message was sent out asking parents to collect their children from the venue.


A number of people are also understood to have been taken to hospital. The PSNI says that there are a small number of casualties.

Cookstown Ulster Unionist councillor, Trevor Wilson, said the deaths had been confirmed to him by the PSNI. He described what had happened as a ‘terrible tragedy.’
