Final preparations for 30th anniversary Half Marathon

FINAL preparations are being made this evening by thousands of runners preparing for the 30th Omagh Half Marathon and 5K Fun Run through the streets of the town tomorrow.

Those participating can collect their race packs from Omagh Leisure Complex until 8pm tonight and again between 8am and 10am on Saturday morning.

There is set to be a carnival atmosphere as over 4000 runners get set for one of Tyrone’s biggest annual sporting events.Organisers have also lined up a special treat when Irish Running Legend, Catherina McKiernan, will be giving some tips at a special event in the Leisure Complex later this evening.

At 6.30pm and 7.45pm the Cavan athlete will be in a talk with the great Frank Grealy and provide an insight into her story and experiences as an elite athlete.

She will also be handing out race prizes after the event tomorrow.
