Why did the ducks cross the road?

By Eimhear McGurk

….To get to the other side!

Traffic in Omagh was brought to a standstill today as a mother duck and her five ducklings waddled their way across a very busy road in town.

Motorists on the Great Northern Road in Omagh came to a halt this afternoon to ensure the safe crossing of the flock who had come out of the Gortrush Industrial Estate entrance, and were attempting to cross to the grass verge on the opposite side of the road.

But there was no need to duck and dive the traffic, as patient motorists on the busy bypass brought their vehicles to a halt, allowing the birds to cross safely and unharmed.
