Rangers reinstated to meet Tummery in Junior Cup final

Enniskillen Rangers have been reinstated into the Irish Junior Cup following a meeting of the IFA last evening.

Rangers were defeated 3-1 by Bessbrook United in the semi-final at the beginning of April but following a series of three meetings the IFA ruled that Bessbrook had played an ineligible player.

At the first two meetings the Junior committee found that Bessbrook had not broken the competition rules however at last night’s Board meeting that decision was overturned.

Rangers have been informed to prepare for the final against fellow Fermanagh and Western League opponents Tummery Athletic at the National Stadium on Saturday, May 18. The showpiece had intially be pencilled in for May Day Bank Holiday Monday.

Any potential protest by Bessbrook will be heard on Wednesday, May 15.
